About Perinatal Palliative Care Coordinator Training
Dr. Côté-Arsenault and Dr. Denney-Koelsch’s research on continuing pregnancy with life-limiting fetal diagnoses and perinatal palliative care spans 11 years and is reported in 12 peer-reviewed publications, and more than 30 regional, national and international conferences. Their recently published co-edited book “Perinatal Palliative Care: A Clinical Guide” (2020) is available from Springer Nature.
The impetus for their current focus on Care Coordinators is the realization that couples have told us, in past studies, that many feel isolated and alone, that their care is fragmented, while others have had one care provider that has guided them throughout their pregnancy and birth with known life-limiting fetal diagnoses. We believe that well-prepared Care Coordinators can create a safe space for families within which they are listened to, their values and wishes are honored, and their babies are valued.
